Devaluation versus deflation

Several times I see that the term devaluation is being misused.

When they want to say that in the future the currency (bitcoin) will become more valuable - in comparison to other currencies - they call that devaluation of bitcoin.

But i assume they actually mean deflation.

For new crypto holders this is quite confusing.

I noticed that people are rarely corrected.

That confused me at first and I thought maybe i was missing something profoundly regarding Bitcoin.

I guess i am not the only one who paid attention to this?
