Euro in DeFi feels like it's completely left behind.

All Cryptocurrencies

As a European, my native money is Euro. But in the DeFi space, USD is the one. And that puts a new risk for us Europeans, which is the USD-EUR rate.
For the past year, US dollar has lost 11% to EURO. That means that even with a solid no-brainer position like Aave (about 5% on USDC lending), we still lost money.

Now, Circle has issued a Euro stablecoin, named EURC but accordingly to the charts, EURC marketcap is about 220 milllion...compared to 270 BILLION marketcap of all stablecoins. A drop in the ocean. And the yield in DeFi is thin to say the least (about 3% on evey platform).
Why is that so ? I'm genuinely wondering why a Euro Stablecoin is not more present in DeFi. Is it a matter of regulation ? Of people interest ? Has it lost against the ever dominance of US dollar ?
And I've only mentionned EURC because it's basically the only one existing, other EURO stablecoins do exist, but either very risky, not enough regulated, and so on.

What are you thoughts about this, especially fellow europeans ?
